MacBook Pro with Retina Display (and Pegasus R4)
Jun 26, 2012 · CommentsComputersRAIDYay!
My new MacBook Pro with Retina Display will henceforth be called simply the MPBr. The product itself is terrific, but why in the world did they give it such a long (really long) name? Anyway, here is a pic..
<p>
I haven’t installed any of my software yet, so you’ll have to wait for full impressions of everything I use. The first thing I did was set the display to 1920×1200, or what looks like 1920×1200 on the MBPr’s 2880×1800 display. I have to say that it looks great, and while some people might find the text a little small at this setting, I still have pretty good eyesight and I love (LOVE!) having the extra real estate on the screen. So, often when I am working on a project I feel like I need to hook up a second display just to see everything. Not so any more.
</p>
<p>
Disclaimer: I’ll probably still use the second display sometimes.
</p>
<p>
I’ve also got a Promise Pegasus R4 (4TB) to use with the new MBPr, so once I get that set up I’ll post some of my thoughts regarding it.
